WHITAKER, June M. (Krumloff)

Age 87 of Biltmore Dr. and formerly of Briarcliff  Dr. Horseheads, passed away Mar. 18, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. June was born in Elmira, NY on June 2, 1930 to the late, Earl and Frances (Morgan) Krumloff. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2016.  She was also predeceased by her daughters, JoAnn Miller, Janet Fusco and most recently Patty Haskins. She is survived by her daughter and son, Jane Winterling of Guilford, VT and Jack “Tim” Whitaker of Elmira; Sons-in-law, Gary Miller of Painted Post, NY, Armand Fusco of Pine City and Jeff Haskins of Breesport, NY; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and many close and caring friends.  June was a longtime member of North Chemung United Methodist Church.  She retired as the County Executive Director for Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Horseheads. June was proud of her involvement with the Farm City in the Arnot Mall and the Old McDonald Farm at the Chemung County Fair Grounds where she instructed students about where dairy products come from. Many students and children were introduced to various farm animals at those events. During her long life she had many interests and hobbies including camping and cooking. More recently she enjoyed hunting for antiques with Patty and Sharon. June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Thurs. Mar. 22, 2018 from 1-3:00 pm and again from 5-6:00 pm where her service will follow there at 6:00 pm.  Burial in North Chemung Cemetery in North Chemung.
